everyone over sleeps

Pro-golfer Jim Furyk overslept and missed his tee time at the Fed-Ex pro-am Wednesday morning. And for this he was disqualified from his chance to compete for 10 million dollars. The reason for Furyk missing his tee time was because his cellphone battery died , he said that he set his alarm the tuesday night before and that it then died in the middle of the night.

I realize that everyone oversleeps and is late to work or misses a class occasionally , and thats just normal. It just happens to be very unfortunate for Furyk because he lost his chance to play for 10 million dollars. The rules of the tournament state that if you miss your tee time your out, and thats it. As far as if i think its fare or not , i have mixed feelings. Anyones phone could die in the middle of the night , but i also think that he should have either checked his battery or plugged it in before he went to bed or set a wake up call. But if i were Furyk i would also wish that people would see that it was a honest mistake , and i think the fact that he took full responsibly for it also should've help. I ultimately agree with him being disqualified though , simply because that is what is stated in the tournament rules and if you break them your done. It stinks for him but thats just how it goes.
